Veterinarians

  • Kirk Teschke , DVM


    Dr. Kirk Teschke graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 after receiving a B.S. in Zoology. Dr. Teschke practiced in Atlanta, Georgia and Carbondale, Colorado prior to returning to his native Florida in 2001 to open Estero Animal Hospital with long time friend, Dr. Larry Scrabis. Dr. Teschke treats cats, dogs, small mammals, exotics, and small ruminants. Dr. Teschke and his wife enjoy sharing their home with many pets in a variety of shapes, sizes, and breeds. In his spare time, Dr. Kirk tries staying active in the Estero community, and enjoys bicycling, soccer, backpacking, and fishing. Vetsuite_Img_75452

  • Dr. Larry Scrabis , DVM


    Dr. Larry Scrabis graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 after receiving a B.S. in Zoology. (On a side note: Dr. Larry Scrabis, a.k.a. “1990 Slugfest Champion of the University of Florida”) After finishing veterinary school, he practiced in Winston Salem and Greensboro, North Carolina prior to opening Estero Animal Hospital in 2001 with his friend, Dr. Kirk Teschke. Dr. Scrabis, along with his wife and daughter, share their home with their dog Raizen, and their two cats, Cali and Chuck. Dr. Scrabis enjoys fishing, kayaking, and playing softball as well as volunteering in his community when he is not working.

  • Kim Dorman , DVM


    Dr. Kim Dorman graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University after earning a B.S. in Animal Sciences from West Virginia University.  Prior to joining Estero Animal Hospital, Dr. Dorman practiced at a small animal and exotic clinic in north Tampa, Florida.  In addition to cats and dogs, Dr. Dorman also enjoys treating a variety of exotic animals such as rabbits, ferrets, rats, hamsters, and guinea pigs.  Dr. Dorman and her fiance happily share their home with their Great Dane (Desoto), cat (Fritz), two rabbits (Furbur and Bugsy), and a parakeet (Sky).  While not playing with her assortment of animals at home, Dr. Dorman enjoys running, biking, kayaking, and traveling.

    What I like best about working at EAH:  All the friendly, warm clients I see daily  and slimy wet dog kisses!

    Favoritre Memories of EAH:   Helping with the c-sections we have done and seeing new life being brought into the world.

    Greatest Life Accomplishments:  Going to school obtain my CVT license while working full time, and being a mom.

    What I like best about working at EAH:  The Doctors are the best people to work for!  I've never been happier anywhere else.  The staff is awesome!

    Favorite Memories of EAH:  #10 McGee (Goat)  She was my best friend!  I ALMOST had Dr. Kirk & Dr. Larry convinced to keep her until we had to replace several keyboards.  (Sorry Guys!)

    Greatest Life Accomplishments:  Having my son.

    What I like best about working at EAH:  Helping sick animals get better.  Also seeing adopted pets placed in 'forever homes'.

    Favorite Memories of EAH:  Bringing in "Wilbur " the pig for a neuter and then finding out he had scabies after everyone loved all over him!

    Greatest Life Accomplishments:  Moving out of my dad's when I was 18 and being able to make it on my own.

    What I like best about working @ EAH:  Working in a state of the art facility with exceptional doctors and staff members.  Serving clients that truly want the best care for their pets.

    Favorite Memories of EAH:  Being allowed to raise a hatchling bird while at work and watching Kasey run and play with a baby goat.

    Greatest Life Accomplishments:  working to put my husband through college, raising 2 beautiful daughters, and being an animal advocate most of my life.

    Greatest Life Accomplishments:  Getting two High School diplomas while living in a country I had never lived in before.  Having seen 1/4 of the world before my 18th birthday.  Learning to speak 3 languages fluently before I was 18.
